The shaft has two drilled keeper holes, with one hole positioned at each end. When properly matched retaining hardware is installed, these end locations help keep the fork assemblies from sliding off the shaft. How the 2 Inch Bucket Fork Shaft Works

In a PRO-Link-style bucket fork system, mounting hooks are welded to the top of a compatible loader bucket. The 200-2H shaft engages with and is supported by those hooks, while the eyes on the fork assemblies slide over the round shaft. The forks themselves are not welded to the bucket. Their position can be adjusted along the shaft so the operator can match the fork spacing to the load.

After the forks are positioned, suitable keepers are installed through the drilled holes at the ends of the shaft. These retainers limit outward travel and help prevent a fork from sliding completely off the end. Keeper hardware must fit the holes correctly and remain secure during use.

It can also serve as a fabrication component for pallet forks that have correctly sized eyes or bushings through which the shaft can slide.
