Choosing Between the PHD-900 and PHD-1200 Digger Heads
The PHD-900 and PHD-1200 are complete auger-head options with replaceable cutting components. Both connect to a compatible 2⅜-inch outside-diameter cross-bolt receiver base. The receiver and head holes must align so the correct retaining bolt can pass through both components.
The PHD-900 9-inch digger head produces the smaller hole of the two. A 9-inch diameter can be useful for many fence-post, planting, and general property-maintenance jobs where a wider opening is unnecessary.
The PHD-1200 12-inch digger head provides a larger digging diameter for projects that require more clearance around a post, pole, root ball, or foundation component. A larger head removes more material and may require more power and torque, so the post hole digger, drive system, tractor or carrier, and soil conditions must be appropriate for the work.
Neither head should be selected by hole diameter alone. Verify receiver fit, cross-bolt alignment, equipment power requirements, operating clearance, and the manufacturer’s limits before use.

The PHD-100F fish-tail auger tip uses a bolt-on connection. Its fish-tail profile helps establish initial contact and guide a compatible auger while drilling begins. Buyers must match the mounting-hole arrangement and surrounding receiver geometry.
The PHD-100FT threaded fish-tail tip provides a similar fish-tail working profile for an auger that uses the correct threaded receiver. Confirm the thread diameter, pitch, direction, threaded length, and seating surface. It is not interchangeable with the bolt-on PHD-100F merely because both are fish-tail tips.
The PHD-100T screw-point auger tip uses a threaded spiral-style point. Its profile is designed to engage the ground and help guide a compatible auger into the starting location. Match every thread and seating measurement rather than assuming all threaded tips are interchangeable.

PHD-200A Replacement Digger Blades and Wear Inspection
The PHD-200A replacement digger blade fits the PHD-900 and PHD-1200 heads. It is made from solid hardened steel with a published hardness of 36–38 HRC. Each blade is sold individually with a ½-inch bolt and locking nut.
Replacing a worn cutting blade can restore the working edge without replacing the full digger head. Inspect all blades on the head so uneven wear is not overlooked. Confirm that the mounting surface and bolt hole are undamaged and that the supplied hardware is installed correctly.
Inspect the pilot tip, blades, receiver, retaining bolt, threads, auger flighting, driveline, guards, and attachment before operation. Replace parts that are cracked, bent, chipped, badly rounded, loose, or worn beyond acceptable service limits. Shut down the power source, lower or support the equipment, and wait for all movement to stop before inspecting or servicing the auger.
Safe Setup Before Drilling
Contact 811 before beginning any digging project so participating utilities can mark the approximate location of buried lines. Wait for the required responses and follow the instructions provided for the marked work area.
Read the equipment manufacturer’s operator manual and keep guards and shields installed.
