It combines a 55 inch by 1.75 inch square Conus II tine with the matching 144T weld-in sleeve and PRO-Link’s patented Doublenut® mounting system. The individual spear is rated at 3,500 pounds at a 30 inch load center.

This model uses a tapered, nut-retained connection. It is different from the straight 55SX cross-hole model, which is retained by a bolt passing through aligned holes in the spear and sleeve. Deep Engagement for Large and Dense Bales

The square HAYSTIX® shaft gradually narrows toward the point. This Conus II profile enters compressed bale material progressively instead of presenting the tine’s full width at once. A qualified fabricator should determine the sleeve direction, projection, alignment, supporting steel, thread clearance, and welding procedure.

After the collar and surrounding frame have cooled, clean away dirt, heavy corrosion, scale, or weld spatter that could interfere with seating. Insert the tapered mounting end through the sleeve. Tightening the conical nut draws the matching surfaces together, and the second jam nut locks against the first to help resist vibration-related loosening. Both nuts still require correct installation and routine inspection.

The complete 55TXJ includes the 144T, but a future replacement spear is not necessarily limited to that collar. Another sleeve may be suitable when it correctly matches the 1.75 inch Conus II taper, seating depth, threads, nut arrangement, support, and clearance.
