Hayspears

Hayspears® hay spears are PRO-Link’s dependable 1-5/8-inch bale-handling line for farmers, ranchers, equipment dealers and attachment builders. Hayspears® models are rated at 3,000 pounds at a 30-inch load center and are available for replacing a worn spear or completing a new hay-handling attachment. The capacity of the finished setup still depends on the frame, mounting system, loader and machine being used.

The Hayspears® line includes tapered, cross-bolt and bracketed mounting choices. A tapered bale spear seats into the matching tapered sleeve or collar and is drawn securely into position with the correct retaining nut. A cross-bolt model uses a straight shank and locks into its sleeve through aligned holes in both parts. Bracketed models use the bracket and U-bolt hardware specified for that spear. Understanding these differences helps buyers avoid ordering a hay tine that will not fit the existing frame.

Many Hayspears® models use a fluted profile that helps the spear enter dense material and release more easily when the bale is set down. Different lengths are available for handling large round bales, compact round bales and square bales made from dry hay, straw, wet hay, silage, haylage or cornstalks. Longer bale spikes provide deeper engagement, while shorter hay stabs can provide better control in confined feeding and storage areas.

These hay spears are commonly used in compatible tractor loader frames, skid steer bale attachments, front-end loader hay frames, three-point bale movers and custom agricultural equipment. Replacement buyers should verify the spear diameter, mounting profile, threads or cross-hole location, retention method and required length. Sleeve inside diameter by itself does not confirm proper fit.
