HAYSTIX Bracketed Bale Spears

HAYSTIX® bracketed bale spears provide serviceable bolt-on mounting options for dedicated hay frames and custom agricultural attachments. This category includes two different assemblies: the 48BX and the 49BX. Because their spear diameters, brackets and capacities are different, buyers should choose according to the complete product specifications rather than length alone.

The 48BX combines a 48-inch by 1-5/8-inch spear with the 155BU bracket and two 58X3U U-bolt assemblies. It is rated at 3,000 pounds at a 30-inch load center. The 49BX combines a 49-inch by 1.75-inch spear with the 175BU bracket and two 58X3U U-bolt assemblies. It is rated at 3,500 pounds at a 30-inch load center. Both assemblies are designed for compatible 3-inch by 3-inch frame tubing.

These are straight cross-hole spears, not tapered or nut-fastened models. The spear slides into its matching bracket until the retaining holes align. A cross-bolt passes through the bracket and spear to hold the bale tine in position. Two U-bolts then wrap around the compatible frame tubing and secure the bracket. This arrangement keeps the mounting parts accessible for inspection, tightening and later service.

The 48- and 49-inch hay spikes provide useful engagement in properly sized round hay bales and square bales. They may also be suitable for straw, wet hay, silage, haylage and cornstalk bales when the complete attachment and machine are correctly designed and rated for the material.

Bracketed bale spears are commonly installed on compatible tractor loader hay frames, skid steer bale attachments, front-end loader frames, three-point bale movers and custom-built agricultural equipment. They do not mount directly to every tractor or skid steer. Buyers must verify the frame-tubing dimensions, bracket model, cross-bolt, U-bolts, spear spacing, frame strength and machine capacity.
