The cross-bolt retains the spear in the bracket and helps keep it aligned. This is a fluted spear; orient the flutes according to the spear installation guidance when fitting it to the frame. As with any single-spear arrangement, use a frame and any stabilizing components appropriate to the bale size and handling conditions.

The 39SB1 can be installed on a compatible hay bale mover, tractor loader frame, skid steer attachment, or custom bale-handling frame constructed for the task. It can serve feeding, bale staging, and short-distance relocation where a bolt on connection is preferred. A bare 3 inch square tube is not itself a complete bale mover: the carrier connection, structural frame, bale control, and machine capacity all matter.
