FEP65X96 96 Inch Pallet Fork Extensions for 5 Inch Forks
$290.00
Heavy-duty 96 inch slide-on pallet fork extensions for compatible 5 inch wide forks at least 72 inches long, with heel retention.
Description
The ALLPROFORKS FEP65X96 96 inch pallet fork extensions for 5 inch forks provide additional support beneath lumber, pipe, trusses, long pallets, structural materials and other oversized loads. Each 96 inch steel channel slides over a compatible existing fork, allowing operators to add working length when needed without permanently replacing the original fork pair. These extensions are intended for properly matched forklifts, skid-steer fork frames, tractor-loader attachments and other rated material-handling equipment.
The supporting forks must be 5 inches wide and at least 72 inches long. Width and length are only part of proper fit, so buyers must also verify blade thickness, taper, profile and the clearance inside the extension before ordering.
Open-Channel Design, Fit and Load Support
The FEP65X96 uses an open-channel bottom that allows each extension to slide over the fork tip and along the supporting blade. A heel-retention system secures the channel behind the fork heel to help prevent it from moving forward during lifting and transport. The extensions can be removed when the job returns to standard pallets or shorter materials.
A minimum 72 inch base fork provides the overlap required for this 96 inch model. These extensions should not be installed on 48 inch forks or on blades that do not sit correctly inside the channels. Operators using narrower forks should compare the FEP64X96 extensions for 4 inch forks. Buyers who have 5 inch wide forks but need less overall length can review the FEP65X72 72 inch pallet fork extensions.
Before ordering, measure each base fork from the inside face of the shank at the heel to the tip. Also measure blade width and the greatest thickness within the area covered by the extension. Do not grind, heat or otherwise modify a fork or extension to force an incorrect fit.
Suitable materials may include:
- Long pallets and crates
- Lumber, trusses and structural components
- Pipe, tubing and bundled supplies
- Sheet material and agricultural products
- Construction and warehouse materials
The load must remain evenly supported, centered and controlled. Fork extensions are not intended to be used as pry bars or as lifting booms for suspended loads.
Installation, Capacity and Operating Limits
Before installation, lower the forks onto a stable surface, secure the machine against unintended movement and inspect both base forks. Do not cover forks that are cracked, bent, heavily worn, twisted or improperly matched. Inspect the extensions and heel-retention components for distortion, damaged welds or excessive wear.
Slide both channels fully over the forks, position the retention systems behind the heels and verify that each extension is seated evenly. Confirm that neither channel can slide forward before applying a load. Inspect the setup again if an extension shifts, binds or becomes damaged during use.
The FEP65X96 adds reach; it does not increase lifting capacity. Extension weight and the longer load can move the center of gravity farther forward, which may reduce the usable capacity and stability of the carrier. The lowest-rated component controls the complete system, including the machine, carriage or fork frame, base forks, extensions and actual load-center position. The related-company guide to pallet fork capacity and load-center terms provides additional background, but the carrier manufacturer’s approved capacity information must control operation.
Carry loads low, avoid abrupt starts and turns, and allow additional clearance for the 96 inch overall length. Compare all available sizes in the PRO-Link pallet fork extension category. The FEP65X96 is covered by a one-year limited warranty against manufacturer’s defects.
Questions & Answers
What size forks are required for the FEP65X96?
The supporting forks must be 5 inches wide and at least 72 inches long. Blade thickness, taper and extension clearance must also be confirmed.
Do these pallet fork extensions increase lifting capacity?
No. They increase working length and support beneath longer materials. They do not raise the ratings of the machine, carriage, frame or original forks and may reduce usable capacity by moving the load center forward.
How are the FEP65X96 extensions retained?
Each open-bottom channel slides over a compatible fork. The heel-retention system then secures behind the fork heel to help prevent forward movement during properly controlled operation.
