The HAYSTIX® S396TXJ 39-inch tapered hay bale spear is a spear-only replacement tine built for deeper engagement in large round bales, square bales, silage, straw, and other dense feed materials. It measures 39 inches long by 1.375 inches in diameter and is rated at 1,700 pounds at a 30-inch load center. Its slimmer multipurpose profile helps the point enter compacted hay, while the added length provides more reach than a 33-inch tine.

This model uses a Conus 1 tapered mounting profile and PRO-Link’s Doublenut® retention system. Because the part number begins with “S,” the product does not include a sleeve or collar. It must be matched with the correct compatible sleeve in an existing attachment or a properly designed custom bale-spear frame.

Deeper Bale Engagement with a Slim Tapered Profile

A 39-inch tine can reach farther into a suitable bale, helping the attachment maintain controlled engagement during lifting, feeding, stacking, and trailer unloading. The gradual taper separates tightly packed fibers as the spear enters the bale, and the 1.375-inch diameter offers a smaller profile than PRO-Link’s larger spear families. The square shank allows the installer to orient the tine correctly before the nuts are tightened. Proper seating, thread engagement, sleeve alignment, and frame strength are necessary for safe operation.
