This model features a 1.75-inch diameter, 49-inch tapered bale spear with a four-sided fluted design. The tapered profile allows for smooth entry and clean withdrawal from dense round bales, while the fluted geometry maintains strong holding power during transport and stacking. Manufactured from high-strength, heat-treated steel, the SM49TXJ is built to resist flexing, fatigue, and wear under repeated heavy use.

Conus II Compatibility and Retrofit Versatility

The SM49TXJ is supplied with the Doublenut® locking system and does not include a 144T sleeve/collar, making it ideal for retrofit applications where a Conus II sleeve is already installed. Designed to retrofit approximately 95% of all Conus II tapered bale spears sold over the past 20 years, this tine offers exceptional versatility when replacing worn or damaged spears without modifying the existing frame.
