HAYSTIX Cross Bolt Bale Spears

HAYSTIX® cross bolt bale spears provide a straightforward mechanical mounting system for farmers, equipment owners and attachment builders. This category includes selected 1-5/8-inch products along with heavy-duty 1.75-inch HAYSTIX® models. Capacities vary by spear size and model, so customers should follow the dimensions and rating published on each individual product page.

A cross-bolt spear is straight and non-tapered at the mounting end. During installation, the holes in the spear and matching sleeve or collar are aligned, and a bolt passes through both parts to hold the spear securely in place. This is different from a tapered spear, which seats into a tapered sleeve and tightens with a retaining nut. Buyers should not substitute one mounting type for the other.

Complete models without an S prefix include the sleeve and fastening hardware specified in the product listing. Depending on the model and diameter, complete assemblies may use a matching 155 or 175 sleeve. Products beginning with S or SM are replacement spears only and normally do not include the sleeve or cross-bolt hardware. Always confirm what is included before ordering.

Available lengths provide choices for compact round bales, large round bales and square bales made from dry hay, straw, wet hay, silage, haylage or cornstalks. Longer hay tines provide deeper bale engagement, while shorter bale spikes can improve control in confined feeding and storage areas.

These cross-hole hay spears are used in compatible tractor loader frames, skid steer bale attachments, front-end loader frames, three-point hay movers and custom agricultural equipment. Replacement buyers must match the spear diameter, shank dimensions, cross-hole position, sleeve size and bolt requirements. Matching the inside diameter alone is not enough if the cross holes or retention hardware do not align.
