Description

110T 1.375-Inch Tapered Spear Sleeve – Conus I

The HAYSTIX® 110T 1.375-inch tapered spear sleeve is a Conus I weld-in collar for mounting compatible bale spears in agricultural frames and hay-handling attachments. Its machined internal taper provides the matching seat for select 1.375-inch spears, helping hold the tine in alignment and transfer the working load into the surrounding frame structure. The 110T can be used when fabricating a new bale carrier or repairing an existing attachment that uses the same sleeve specification.

This component is designed for permanent installation in suitable steel tubing or another properly engineered mounting location. It is the verified sleeve for the HAYSTIX® 336CXJ, 336TXJ, 396TXJ, and 436TXJ complete spear assemblies. Buyers should match the sleeve to the exact spear model and taper instead of relying on diameter alone.

Verified Conus I Bale-Spear Compatibility

The 110T is made for the tapered mounting ends used on these PRO-Link models:

  • 336CXJ curved bale spear
  • 336TXJ 33-inch tapered spear
  • 396TXJ 39-inch tapered spear
  • 436TXJ 43-inch tapered spear

Each corresponding non-S assembly includes the 110T collar. Spear-only versions can use an existing 110T sleeve when the collar, surrounding steel, and welds remain in serviceable condition. A similar-looking spear is not automatically compatible. Confirm the model number, 1.375-inch profile, Conus I taper, threaded mounting end, and required nut system before ordering or beginning fabrication.

The internal taper is different from a straight cross-hole mounting system. With the correct tapered spear, the shank seats inside the sleeve as the retaining nut is tightened. This draws the matching surfaces together and helps maintain the tine’s position during normal bale handling. A cross-bolt spear instead requires aligned holes in both the tine and sleeve, so it should not be substituted in the 110T collar.

Weld-In Installation for Hay Frames and Repairs

The empty sleeve must be welded into the attachment before the spear is installed. Remove the spear, nuts, and other heat-sensitive mounting parts before welding. A qualified fabricator should confirm the collar’s direction, projection, alignment, supporting steel, weld procedure, and required frame strength. Incorrect positioning can cause poor spear alignment, limited clearance, or uneven loading across a multi-tine carrier.

After welding, allow the assembly to cool and inspect the finished work before inserting the spear. The tapered shank should seat fully in the 110T sleeve without dirt, heavy corrosion, weld spatter, or visible damage interfering with the connection. Install and tighten the correct retaining hardware according to the applicable instructions.

This 1.375-inch tapered spear sleeve may be incorporated into bale attachments carried by tractor front-end loaders, skid steers, telehandlers, or other suitable machines. The sleeve itself does not determine machine compatibility or finished capacity. Those depend on the spear, frame, welds, coupler, tine spacing, load center, attachment rating, and the limits of the machine carrying it.

Inspect the collar, spear, retaining hardware, surrounding tubing, and welds regularly. Stop using the equipment if the sleeve is cracked, distorted, loose, badly worn internally, or no longer holds the spear correctly. PRO-Link covers the 110T with a one-year limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use, subject to the complete warranty terms.

Questions & Answers

Which PRO-Link spears use the 110T sleeve?

The 110T is the verified collar for the 336CXJ, 336TXJ, 396TXJ, and 436TXJ complete tapered-spear assemblies. Confirm the exact model and mounting profile before installation.

Is the 110T designed for weld-in installation?

Yes. The empty collar is welded into suitable steel tubing or a properly engineered frame. The spear and retaining hardware must be removed before welding begins.

Will any 1.375-inch spear fit this 1.375-inch tapered spear sleeve?

No. Diameter alone does not confirm compatibility. The spear must also have the correct Conus I tapered shank, threaded connection, and matching mounting dimensions.
