The 336CXJ changes the point’s approach angle, helping the operator engage suitable round or square bales during winter feeding, pasture cleanup, barn work, feeder placement, or trailer loading. Its 33-inch reach provides useful penetration without the extra length of a larger primary tine.

The curve is part of the product’s intended shape and should not be mistaken for accidental bending. When inspecting the spear, compare it with its correct original profile. Stop using it if the point, shaft, taper, threads, or curved section develops cracking, twisting, a new bend, severe wear, or another form of damage.

The spear is intended for handling hay bales—not for prying, digging, removing fence posts, or lifting unrelated materials. Keep the bale low during travel, operate smoothly, and follow the limits of the carrier and completed attachment. Ohio State University Extension’s tractor-loader safety guidance also recommends using manufacturer-approved bale-handling attachments and carrying bales slowly and as low as practical.

Installing the 110T Sleeve and Doublenut® System

The included 110T tapered spear sleeve is a Conus I weld-in collar made for the mounting profile used by the 336CXJ. The spear, nuts, and other heat-sensitive parts should be removed before welding. A qualified fabricator must determine sleeve direction, surrounding steel, alignment, clearance, weld procedure, tine orientation, and finished frame strength.

After the installed sleeve has cooled and the welds have been inspected, the tapered shank seats inside the collar. Tightening the first nut draws the matching tapered surfaces together. The second nut locks against the first to help resist loosening caused by vibration and repeated bale-handling cycles. Correct curve orientation is especially important, so the tine should be positioned as required by the attachment design before final tightening.

The 336CXJ may be incorporated into properly designed tractor front-end-loader frames, skid-steer bale attachments, three-point hay movers, telehandler carriers, or custom agricultural equipment. These are potential applications rather than guaranteed direct-fit machines. Compatibility depends on the frame, coupler, sleeve location, curve orientation, clearances, welding, and capacity of the complete system.

The published 1,700-pound rating applies to the individual spear at a 30-inch load center. It does not establish the capacity of the loader, frame, coupler, welds, sleeve, or completed attachment. Bale weight varies with size, material, moisture, density, and condition, so always follow the lowest-rated component.
