Bolt On Installation for 3 Inch Square Tubing

The two U-bolts wrap around compatible 3 inch by 3 inch square tubing and pass through the bracket’s mounting holes. Tightening the supplied washers and nuts clamps the bracket to the frame without requiring the bracket to be welded in place. This mounting style can simplify installation, repositioning and future replacement compared with a permanent weld-in component.

The U-bolts secure the bracket to the frame; they do not retain the spear. After the correctly matched spear is positioned in the 155BU, the spear must be secured using the proper cross-bolt arrangement for that completed assembly. Confirm that all required spear-retaining hardware is present before operation.

Measure the frame tubing before ordering. Heavy paint, weld beads, added plates, rounded corners, dents, corrosion or crushed tubing may prevent the bracket and U-bolts from seating evenly. The frame must also provide enough strength, clearance and support for the spear position and intended bale. Tighten the mounting hardware gradually and evenly so the bracket remains square against the tubing.
