3AB47, Class 3, 47″ Lower Fork Carriage Bar
$395.00
The PRO-Link 3AB47 Lower Fork Carriage Bar is a Class 3 ITA lower rail designed for forklift systems with 20-1/8″ vertical carriage spacing. Built from high-strength steel for fabrication and carriage repair, this lower bar ensures proper fork heel support and secure load stability in heavy-duty applications.
Description
3AB47 47-Inch Class 3 Lower Fork Carriage Bar
The ALLPROFORKS® 3AB47 47-inch Class 3 lower fork carriage bar is a weld-in lower rail for building or repairing a compact forklift carriage, pallet-fork frame, telehandler fork assembly, or material-handling attachment. Its 47-inch length is intended for projects where the frame design calls for a narrower carriage than the 72-inch 3AB72. Made from high-strength structural steel, this bar provides the lower engagement surface needed by Class 3 hook-type forks when it is installed with the correct upper rail and properly engineered frame.
The 3AB47 is one fabrication component, not a complete carriage or a bolt-on part that automatically fits every machine. Before ordering, confirm the required rail length, fork class, frame width, fork-hook dimensions, upper-to-lower rail position, and finished attachment design. The strength and lifting capacity of the completed assembly depend on the entire system—not this lower bar alone.
How the Class 3 Lower Carriage Bar Works
Hook-type forks connect to a carriage at two points. The upper fork hooks hang on the upper carriage rail, while the lower hooks engage the lower rail to help keep each fork seated and aligned against the frame. The 3AB47 does not support the heel of the fork blade. Instead, it works as the lower retention and engagement surface within a matched Class 3 carriage.
Correct rail placement is important because the forks must engage both rails without excessive looseness, binding, or misalignment. PRO-Link specifies a 20-1/8-inch vertical rail setup for the 3AB47. Because drawings and manufacturers may identify measurement points differently, the fabricator should confirm where that dimension is taken before welding. The upper and lower rails must remain straight, parallel, level, and positioned to match the intended forks.
When used in a properly designed frame, the shorter 47-inch bar can serve several applications:
- Forklift carriage repair or rebuilding
- Compact custom pallet-fork frames
- Telehandler fork assemblies
- Agricultural loader attachments
- Warehouse and industrial lifting equipment
- OEM or repair-shop fabrication projects
These are fabrication uses, not claims of direct fit. A forklift, telehandler, tractor loader, or other machine may require a purpose-built frame, coupler, backplate, reinforcement, and professional engineering before the rail can be used safely.
Fabrication, Matching Parts, and Safe Selection
Pair the 3AB47 with the ALLPROFORKS® 3AT47 Class 3 top carriage bar when the project requires matching 47-inch upper and lower rails. The 3AT47 is the upper bar; it is not included with the 3AB47 unless the product listing specifically states otherwise. Forks, frame members, welding, and other hardware are also selected separately for the finished build.
Installation should be handled by a qualified fabricator familiar with lift-truck carriages and welded material-handling structures. The completed frame must be designed and inspected for the intended machine, load center, fork rating, attachment weight, and working conditions. A 47-inch rail does not establish the assembly’s lifting capacity, and using wider fork spacing does not increase the machine’s rated capacity. Always follow the equipment data plate and the lowest-rated component in the complete setup.
The 3AB47 is covered by PRO-Link’s one-year limited warranty against manufacturer’s defects. Review the full warranty terms for coverage details.
Questions & Answers
Is the 3AB47 an upper or lower fork carriage bar?
The 3AB47 is the 47-inch lower bar for a Class 3 carriage. Its matching 47-inch upper component is the 3AT47 top carriage bar.
Does the 3AB47 include a complete forklift carriage?
No. The product is one lower carriage rail. The upper bar, forks, frame, mounting structure, welding, and other necessary parts are separate unless a listing clearly says they are included.
Will this 47-inch Class 3 lower fork carriage bar fit any forklift?
No. Fit depends on the carriage design, fork-hook dimensions, rail spacing, frame width, mounting structure, and machine requirements. Verify the complete fabrication drawing and equipment specifications before ordering or welding the rail.
