$87.50

Description

The PRO-Link Hayspears® 39TS 39 inch tapered hay spear is a complete spear-and-sleeve assembly for building or repairing compatible bale-handling frames. It combines a 39 inch by 1.625 inch fluted bale tine with the matching 114T weld-in sleeve or collar and a conical retaining nut. The individual spear is rated at 3,000 pounds at a 30 inch load center.

The 39 inch length provides more bale engagement than the compact 33 inch Hayspears® models while remaining easier to position than a 48 inch tine in barns and feeding areas. It may be incorporated into properly designed tractor-loader frames, skid steer hay attachments, 3 point bale movers, livestock-feeding equipment, and custom agricultural carriers. These are potential applications rather than universal direct-fit claims.

39 Inch Tapered Hay Spear with Fluted Sides

The working shaft has two fluted sides that help the tine enter compressed forage progressively and reduce surface contact during withdrawal. Install the spear with its fluted sides parallel to the ground so the profile works in the intended orientation. Its pointed shape can engage suitable round and square bales made from grass hay, alfalfa, straw, cornstalk material, silage, haylage, and other baled feed.

Bale dimensions alone do not determine whether the 39TS is the correct choice. Moisture, density, wrapping, total weight, spear position, and the bale’s center of gravity affect how the load acts on the equipment. A properly designed frame may also require additional primary spears or stabilizer tines, particularly for large square bales or unusually dense forage.

The 3,000 pound rating applies to the individual spear at the specified load center. It does not establish the capacity of the sleeve installation, frame, welds, coupler, loader, tractor, or completed bale mover. Always follow the lowest-rated part of the entire system. Enter a stable portion of the bale, carry it as low as practical, and avoid sudden starts, stops, or turns.

PRO-Link Hayspears® products are available through PRO-Link and participating agricultural dealers. K+K Vet Supply’s 39TS dealer listing confirms the same model, fluted 39 inch spear, 114T sleeve, conical nut, and published rating.

Installing the 114T Sleeve and Tapered Tine

The included 114T collar must be welded into suitable steel tubing or another properly supported location in an engineered hay frame. The 39TS is a component assembly; it does not attach directly to a tractor or skid steer without the correct frame and machine connection. A qualified fabricator should determine sleeve orientation, projection, surrounding steel, alignment, and the welding procedure required for the finished attachment.

Remove the spear and conical nut before welding. After the collar and frame have cooled, inspect the internal seat and remove any dirt, scale, or weld spatter that could prevent proper engagement. Insert the spear’s tapered mounting end into the matching sleeve, orient the fluted sides parallel to the ground, and tighten the conical nut so the mating surfaces seat securely.

PRO-Link’s bale spear sleeve and collar guide explains the differences between tapered, cross-bolt, and bracketed systems. Buyers comparing other mounting methods and spear lengths can also browse the PRO-Link Hayspears® product family.

Before use, inspect the point, flutes, mounting taper, threads, nut, sleeve, welds, and frame. Stop operating if any component is loose, bent, cracked, distorted, badly worn, or unable to seat properly. If the existing 114T collar remains serviceable and only the tine needs replacement, the spear-only S39T may be the more appropriate service part.

The 39TS is covered by PRO-Link’s one-year limited warranty against manufacturer’s defects, subject to the complete warranty terms.

Questions & Answers

What is included with the 39TS assembly?

The package includes the 39 inch fluted tapered hay spear, matching 114T weld-in sleeve or collar, and conical retaining nut. A finished hay frame and machine coupler are not included.

How does the tapered mounting system work?

The empty 114T collar is welded into a properly designed frame. After cooling, the spear’s tapered mounting end seats inside the collar, and the conical nut tightens the matching surfaces together.

Will this 39 inch tapered hay spear fit every tractor or skid steer?

No. The assembly requires a compatible fabricated frame. Verify the sleeve position, tine orientation, frame design, coupler, clearances, welds, and capacity of the complete machine and attachment before use.
