The 33TS has two fluted sides that reduce the amount of surface contacting compressed crop material as the spear enters and leaves a bale. Install the fluted sides parallel to the ground so the tine has the intended working orientation. Its tapered point enters the bale progressively, while the 33 inch length can provide better clearance around feeders, barn openings, trailers, and closely stored hay than a longer primary spear.

This shorter reach may suit round bales used for routine feeding, supported small or medium square bales, straw, alfalfa, Bermuda grass, prairie hay, and mixed-grass hay. A qualified fabricator should determine the collar direction, projection, frame opening, surrounding reinforcement, spear angle, and welding procedure for the completed attachment.

After the collar and frame have cooled, inspect the internal seat and remove anything that could prevent proper engagement. Insert the spear’s tapered mounting end through the sleeve with the fluted sides parallel to the ground. Tightening the conical nut draws the matching tapered surfaces together and secures the tine in its working position. The correct nut, threads, taper, seating depth, and clearance behind the frame must all match.
