The HAYSTIX® SM39FXJ 39-inch replacement hay stabber gives farmers, ranchers, and equipment builders a compact spear for dense forage and confined work areas. Its 39-inch length combines maneuverability with dependable bale engagement, while the 1.75-inch SUPERSTIX® shaft uses a four-sided fluted profile to enter tightly packed material and release with less drag than a plain shaft.

This spear-only model is rated at 3,500 pounds at a 30-inch load center. It does not include a sleeve, collar, or attachment frame. The SM39FXJ is intended for a properly matched 1.75-inch Conus II tapered sleeve and should be installed only after the mount, retaining hardware, frame, and machine ratings have been verified.

Compact Fluted Hay Spike for Dense Round and Square Bales

The tapered flutes run along the hay spike to create cutting edges that help the tine enter compressed crop material. That geometry can also reduce surface contact during withdrawal, supporting cleaner release when unloading or feeding. The shorter shaft is easier to position around barns, feeders, trailers, and stacked bales where a longer hay spear may limit clearance.

It may also fit certain AG-GO hay handling frames, but model, sleeve, frame, and hardware compatibility must be confirmed before ordering.

The SM39FXJ is not limited to the 144T by name: another sleeve may be suitable when it is specifically designed to seat the same 1.75-inch Conus II spear profile and provides the correct taper, seating depth, thread clearance, and structural rating. A sleeve with only a nominal 1.75-inch opening is not automatically compatible.

Use the applicable retaining-nut system and tighten it according to the attachment manufacturer’s instructions.
