48TS Tapered Bale Spear

The 48TS tapered bale spear is a heavy-duty hay spear assembly designed for dependable, real-world bale handling performance. This complete assembly includes the S48T 48-inch tapered hay spear, the 114T weld-in sleeve, and a conical nut, providing a secure and efficient tapered spear solution for agricultural equipment.

Rated at 3,000 lbs at a 30-inch load center, the 48TS reflects the typical center of gravity of round bales for accurate, practical lifting capacity. The tapered spear features a fluted design that improves penetration into dense or tight bales and allows for easier, cleaner removal during unloading. The spear is bi-directional and performs best when installed with the fluted sides positioned parallel to the ground.

Tapered Design, Installation, and Performance

The included 114T sleeve is designed to be welded into the hay attachment frame by itself. The bale spear must never be installed in the sleeve during welding. Once welding is complete, the tapered spear is inserted and secured using the conical nut to create a tight, stable connection.
