Hayspears Tapered Hay Spears

Tapered hay spears in this PRO-Link category include traditional 1-5/8-inch Hayspears® models and selected 1.75-inch HAYSTIX® models. This gives farmers, equipment owners and attachment builders several lengths, capacities and replacement options for compatible hay frames. Buyers should use the individual product specifications because the diameter and rating are not the same across every model.

The 1-5/8-inch Hayspears® models are rated at 3,000 pounds at a 30-inch load center and commonly use a fluted profile. Complete tapered assemblies such as the applicable TS models use the matching 114T sleeve and retaining nut specified on their product pages. Spear-only models beginning with S do not include the sleeve unless the listing clearly states otherwise.

Selected 1.75-inch HAYSTIX® models are rated at 3,500 pounds at a 30-inch load center. Their Conus II mounting profile seats in a compatible tapered sleeve, and specified complete assemblies include the 144T sleeve and appropriate nut system. Models beginning with S or SM are replacement spears only. The 144T is a verified sleeve for specified assemblies, but it is not the only possible compatible sleeve when another system correctly matches the complete taper, dimensions, threads and nut arrangement.

A tapered mounting system is different from a straight cross-bolt connection. The tapered shank seats inside its matching collar as the nut draws the surfaces together. It should not be installed in a straight cross-hole sleeve merely because the inside diameter appears similar.

Available lengths support compact round bales, large round bales and square bales made from dry hay, straw, wet hay, silage, haylage or cornstalks. These bale spikes are used in compatible tractor loader frames, skid steer bale attachments, front-end loader frames, three-point bale movers, telehandler frames and custom agricultural equipment.

Before ordering, match the spear diameter, taper, sleeve, threads, retaining nuts, overall length and published capacity. The completed attachment remains limited by its lowest-rated component. PRO-Link products are covered by a one-year limited warranty against manufacturer’s defects.
